Sodexho USA

Frequently asked questions

What if I have a class or internship during meal times?
Sodexho can provide bag meals to resident students unable to eat meals in the Dining Hall during regular hours for academic reasons, i.e. for credit course activities such as internships, student teaching, field trips or campus employment. A bag meal request form must be received 48 hours in advance. The request form may be picked up at Coblentz Dining Hall and should be returned to a manager. Your card will be swiped when you pick up your bag meal, so please bring your ID.

I am sick and cannot make it to the Dining Hall. How can I get my meal?
Take out meals for students who are too ill to eat in the Dining Hall will be provided with a note from the campus nurse. If the student is unable to come to pick up a meal, they may send a roommate or friend with a note and the ill student's ID to pick up the meal. Please call ahead to notify a manager if special dietary requirements must be provided so that we can be sure to accommodate your needs.

I would like to attend a meeting in the Dining Hall but will not be eating. Do I have to pay?
The Hood ID card provides access to the Dining Hall. Other members of the campus community may eat in the Dining Hall on a fee-per-meal basis. Members of the College community may also bring escorted guests to meals. Anyone bringing more than 15 guests must make an advance reservation. Only guests who pay for a meal are allowed entry into the Dining Hall; guests who intend to visit only must do so elsewhere on campus.

I am a Faculty Member and eat in the Dining Hall frequently. How do I start a declining balance on my ID card?
Faculty and staff are urged to place a declining balance account on their ID cards for their convenience. Doing so elimates having to carry cash with you when entering the Dining Hall. You may open a declining balance account by paying the cashier at Coblentz the amount you would like to add to your card. Bring your receipt to the Dining Services Office in the rear of Coblentz to have it added to your card.

I have 15 meals per week. How do I know how many I have left?
Meal counts begin Friday mornings. If you have a 15 meal plan, you start Friday morning off with 15 meals on your card. We subtract meals as you dine with us through the week and start the count over on the following Friday at breakfast. It is important that you track your meal usage so that you do not run out of meals before Thursday dinner. If you have a question about the number of meals you have, you can ask the cashier before they swipe your card and they will check your card for you.
